Hi! My name is Zachary Best, and I am a semi-finalist for 2015-2016 school year with CBYX (FLAG) “What is that??!!” You ask. Well the CBYX website states: “The U.S. State Department funded Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange Program (CBYX) is for motivated high school students who want to fully immerse themselves in German culture by living with a host family and attending a local high school. No previous language experience is required.”
I just had my interview this morning, March 10th, 2015. It wasn’t as scary as I thought it would be. My interviewers were very nice, easy to talk to and I felt very comfortable. I wore a nice pair of slacks, button down shirt and a tie. I wanted to look nice.
We should hear from FLAG about finalists on April 1. Yeah, April Fools Day. Ironic? I think the next three weeks are going to craaaaaaaaaaawl by.
I am going to keep up this blog to hopefully keep friends and family up to date, but also for those who will be in my shoes in the future.
Keep your fingers crossed for me!
I think I will also post about every thing up to this point, like the application process and how much it entailed.
